Feeding those in need, sharing the gospel, and open-air preaching...

March 2008

Last CCN Saturday was a blessing! We met at Seton Hall University for group prayer, the Word of God, and worship. The Lord blessed us with His presence and the saints were edified and encouraged before hitting the streets of Newark, New Jersey, where we fed the hungry, witnessed the gospel one-to-one, and open-air preached to captive audiences.

God gave us great grace and liberty with the people of Newark. Many were very open to the message, thankful for the food, and allowed us to pray for them.

Please pray that the Lord will open the hearts and minds of the people of this community.

Newark Crime Statistics: 2006

  • 105 murders
  • 87 rapes
  • 1288 robberies
  • 1359 aggravated assaults
  • 5097 auto thefts
  • 1982 burglaries

Above: Having been trained how to biblically and effectively share the gospel with people, CCN student members approached people on the street and boldly struck up conversations about the Lord. The people of Newark were very open and many were humbled, challenged with truth, and thankful for our willingness to share Christ with them. Please pray for salvation.

Above: Standing at the intersection of Broad and Market Streets, we were able to preach the gospel with boldness and love to those standing at the bus stops. Even though there were many Muslims, no one seemed offended and many listened intently to the message. Others thanked us for sharing. Many "grew up in church", but are not saved. Please pray for those who are falsely converted to be truly born-again.

Above: After a day of spreading the gospel on the wonderful soil of our free country, America, we broke our fast, and joined together for a time of fellowship at a local Trinidadian restaurant. Unfortunately, it was the size a large closet and so we had to move the feast over to Tiffany's apartment! We're all family!

"And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation." (2 Cor. 5:18-19)

"And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." (Mark 16:15)

We pray you can join us next CCN Saturday: April 26th!
Stay tuned in for more details!

Voice of the Martyrs Campus Outreach/Evangelism Success!

Helping the Persecuted Church while Preaching the Gospel...
*
*
We are so happy to give you an update on our Voice of the Martyrs (VOM)/CCN Evangelistic Outreach events on our campuses! In our previous blog and newsletter, we informed you that we are working alongside VOM to help bring awareness of the persecuted church to college students, while actively preaching the gospel. We do this by setting up a table in a strategic location on campus, offering free materials on VOM, informing them of the persecution of Christians around the world, and sharing the gospel with the students verbally and through gospel tracts.
*
This is part of our "Partnership Program", which is a program designed to help support the efforts of Christian ministries that provide humanitarian aid, while creating an opportunity to preach the gospel biblically and boldly on campus.
*
VOM aids Christians around the world who are being persecuted for their faith in Christ, fulfilling the Great Commission, and educating the world about the ongoing persecution of Christians. Learn more about their ministry: www.persecution.com

See pics below from 3 of our campus outreaches!

Read about this blessed experience from our outreach. A young Muslim hears the gospel for the first time!

Plus, watch a 4 minute video of our IUPUI outreach.

Please pray for our other campuses, which will also be hosting these special outreaches.

Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) campus outreach in January 2008. Read the above testimony of a young Muslim man, who came to college from a country where Christians are harshly persecuted. He heard the gospel and was touched by it. In fact, hear his experience firsthand in the above 4 minute video!

Montclair State University (MSU) in New Jersey outreach in February 2008. A young lady was so touched by the gospel message that she began to cry and thanked us for our bold witness on campus.

Please keep us in prayer as the remainder of our campuses prepare for this outreach on their campus!
