Petition to Preserve Our Freedom in America
Support Academic Freedom
[Taken from AcademicFreedomPetition.com]
Across America, the freedom of scientists, teachers, and students to question Darwin is coming under increasing attack by self-appointed defenders of the theory of evolution who are waging a malicious campaign to demonize and blacklist anyone who disagrees with them.
You can help by signing the Academic Freedom Petition and stand up for free speech and free scientific inquiry.
"We, the undersigned American citizens, urge the adoption of policies by our nation's academic institutions to ensure teacher and student academic freedom to discuss the scientific strengths and weaknesses of Darwinian evolution. Teachers should be protected from being fired, harassed, intimidated, or discriminated against for objectively presenting the scientific strengths and weaknesses of Darwinian theory. Students should be protected from being harassed, intimidated, or discriminated against for expressing their views about the scientific strengths and weaknesses of Darwinian theory in an appropriate manner."

After the conference, we put our faith into action and preached the gospel at a local movie theater that was packed! Many were very receptive and gathered around to hear the gospel. With our amazing freedom in America, we ought to take every advantage to share the gospel with others!
We truly enjoyed the conference and learning about our family all over the world. Please pray for them as they serve the Lord in great faith and obedience.

Prominent House Church leader Released from Prison
UPDATE: On August 29, prominent house church leader, Pastor Zhang Mingxuan, affectionately known as "Pastor Bike", his wife and a co-worker were released from Chinese custody. All three believers are in good health and spirits and praising God for their release, according to China Aid Association. The detainees also said during their confinement they had opportunities to witness to guards and even high-ranking government officials.
Pastor Bike was arrested along with his wife and co-worker on August 6, two days before the Olympic Games began in Beijing. Pastor Bike, an outspoken evangelist, has travelled, on his bike, to many places in China, handing out Christian literature and Bibles and preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. The Voice of the Martyrs and China Aid Association launched an international petition drive advocating for Pastor Bike, his wife and co-worker to be released. To date more than 58,000 people have signed the petition. The petition has been delivered to the Chinese Ambassador, Zhou Wenzhong, in Washington D.C.
VOM praises God for their release and encourages you to continue to pray for them and other believers in China. Ask God to protect believers who constantly face harsh persecution form the government.

An Encouraging Email from a Campus Leader!
Keep pushing that plow, saints! Don't look back!
"Wanted to give you and everyone at CCN some encouragement today. Last night, Ben, Tim and myself put those "This was your life" gospel tracts on the dorms. We did 2 whole dorms. When Ben and myself got back to our room after visiting a friend, we found all our tracts in front of the door with a note that said stop pushing religion on everyone. I have pictures to show you.
This tells me a few things, one: this campus is as bad as I felt and two: the enemy is scared. Though we are rejected, Christ gets all the glory. I praise God that He is shining His light at Midland and the spiritual darkness and [spiritual] enemies on campus are afraid. Praise God!"
-- Luke, Campus Leader
Midland Lutheran College
Please pray for our brother, Luke, as he continues to humbly evangelize his campus with his team in faith and love!
